Review of Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Its that time of year again...
The show starts off with Minnie, Mickey and Goofy coming out to greet everyone and to tell a short story about the upcoming scene. Entertaining and got everyone excited for the show to begin.
Donald comes out riding what looks like a Zamboni along with Chip and Dale riding behind him as if they were water skiing behind.

The first act to come out is Aladdin with Abu as well as everyone's favorite genie!
The acts are quick, yet exciting to watch - to be able to briefly show as many Disney characters as possible is probably hard to do in such a short amount of time. What was really cool to see were the many genies that came out from back stage...a whole lot of genies. They came out and danced around and circled the ice all linked arm to arm.

The next to come up was Nemo, costumes of the skaters were very creative and bubbles came from the ceiling to make it appear as if we were underwater, the lighting changed and here comes Nemo and Dory. Bruce and the other sharks make an appearance as well as Nemo's father. Again a cute skit was done and then out came Minnie and Mickey in spiffy outfits. Mickey kneels down to hand Minnie rose - introduces the next act Beauty and the Beast...

Out comes the candlestick (Lumière), the feather duster (Babette), the clock (Cogsworth)  and Belle...then the Beast. The first "oopsie" of the night happens when Belle and prince charming are skating during a slow song and about midway into it...he falls hard and she falls on top of him. His wig is thrown off. But they continue to skate as if nothing had happened. Good for them, I could only imagine the embarrassment. It was  still enjoyable.

Prince Charming (as you can see that's his real hair - the wig fell off)

The next group of princess and princes were Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White and Pocahontas. Each couple came out 1 at a time, did some skating and then went to 1 particular place on and ice and posed. I loved all of their costumes but Pocahontas (yes she has long hair) needs to push her hair out of her face, even after they were done skating, they stop to post and her hair was hanging all up in her face as if she was Samara from The Ring movie.

Next comes out Goofy and then Sarg from the Toy Story movies. I love these green army men, the costumes and how it reminds me so much of the TS movies. They way they move and how they're all in sync with each other. Then here comes Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear! They skate to some of the favorite songs and then fall #2 of the night...Buzz. Yes he falls! Although it was quick, it was noticeable and I cringed. I wondered if it was the same guy that fell the first time? Maybe?

Intermission came about an hr and a half into the show. Its the perfect time to get up and stretch and take you kids to the potty. It lasted about 10 minutes and then the announcer made sure to give warning to how long until the show will start again.

The next part of the show was probably one of my favorites, it came straight out of  Disneyland. We've all been there, if not - you'd still know what it is...

It's a Small World

Very cute and next came out the Electrical Parade - I just for a split second, I was feeling as if I was at Disneyland - Ya I wish...

Some of the older characters that us older kids would know like Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio made their appearances. When I saw Pinocchio, I was wondering if he told a lie, if his nose would grow - it did! I wondered how in the world did they do it? It was funny. But the fairy princess made it go back to normal.

Finally Mulan, the Incredibles came out as well as the Lion King. No not all at once. lol

I thoroughly enjoyed the show as did my 12 yr old son (glad that hes not "too cool" to still enjoy Disney)
I have been to a lot of Disney on Ice shows and this is the first that I've seen skaters fall, I've ice skated before and falling comes with the territory. Show was still very entertaining for both kids and adults - I just wished it went on longer (The time just flew by) I wanted to see more! Like I said before there just isn't enough time to see ALL of the Disney characters - the show would probably last a couple days, nonstop.

For those of you that see vendors selling light up trinkets and such - do not buy from them! You will not be able to bring them inside the venue. You will either have to toss them before entry or take them back to your car. So save your money and don't buy from them before the show, if your child must have one - buy them at the show, yes they'll cost more but they will also last longer.

So are you ready to see the show?
